How To Get Rid Of Love Handles

So many of us have the same problem:  excess fat stored around our midsection that we have spent years accumulating.  Some people's bodies are hormonally programmed to store fat in the belly and at the sides, so how do you get rid of love handles?

 

The first and most important step is to completely overhaul your diet.  Junk food, fast food, and fried food must be completely cut from your shopping list.  Some people will find this hard to accomplish in one step, so slowly adjust your eating habits if you have to.  However, the result must be the same: no more unhealthy food!  Consider joining a diet program or signing up  for a meal delivery plan in order to help with some of the planning and preparation.  Also, late night snacking is unacceptable.  Eating late at night is a great way to trigger your body to store fat, and guess where your body is likely to store that fat?  In your stomach and love handles!  Diet is the most important factor to consider when embarking on a plan to get rid of love handles or belly fat.

 

If you are a regular drinker of alcohol, consider greatly reducing or eliminating completely your alcohol intake.  Alcohol triggers the body to store fat, particularly in the midsection.  If you are trying to get rid of love handles or a flabby tummy, then alcohol is your enemy.  Even a few drinks will begin to counteract all of the hard work that you have put into your diet and exercise programs.

 

Once you have gotten your diet under control, you will need to start a cardio-vascular workout routine in order to burn more calories each day than you consume.  This will begin the process of reducing that fat around your belly.  Make sure that the cardio is something you enjoy doing, because you will need to stick to your program if you want to see results.

 

The last step to dealing with love handles or belly fat is to perform targeted exercises for the trouble area.  While you cannot target fat loss to specific areas of the body, tightening the muscles under the layer of fat will improve your core strength and give your body a more firm appearance.  Once the fat has been lost from over these newly-developed muscles, then you will be able to see your six pack abs!
