Best Way To Lose Fat

Some studies estimate that just over half of the adult population of the United States is either overweight or obese.  With so many people living with a weight that  is potentially dangerous in addition to being unsatisfying, the question of the best way to lose fat has never been more important.  Everyone knows that in order to lose weight, you must burn more calories than you consume.  There are three ways to accomplish this:  an exercise-only plan, a diet-only plan, and a combination of diet and exercise.  Of these three fat loss strategies, which one is the best way to lose fat?

The first option  is to engage in an exercise-only fat loss plan.  This approach would mean that your eating habits would not change, and instead additional calories will be burned through the use of exercise.  The advantage of this type of approach is that many people are attached to their eating patterns and find them hard to change.  An exercise-only program will appeal to people who enjoy physical activity or who have been athletes in the past.  Various studies have come to differing conclusions about the effectiveness of losing fat without modifying a diet, but most of the studies show that it is possible to take this approach with some success.  However, an exercise-only fat loss plan is not the best way to lose fat.

The second option is to choose a diet-only fat loss plan.  A diet-only plan would imply that no additional exercise is added in order to lose weight.  Under this type of plan, only the consumption of calories is changed.  Eating less and eating healthier is relied on to reduce the fat.  For people who are adverse to exercise, this might be a tempting approach.  This type of plan also has the benefit of forcing a focus on unhealthy eating habits, which can cause many more health related concerns than simply being overweight.  Again, studies have shown that it is possible to have some success with a diet-only plan for losing weight.  However, a diet-only fat loss plan is not the best way to lose fat.

The third option, and the best way to lose fat, is a combination of exercise and diet.  This type of program will allow you the most flexibility and give you the widest health benefits.  Exercising will increase your stamina and maintain your cardio-vascular health as you age, while following a healthy diet will help your body stave off disease as well as help keep your cholesterol and blood sugar in a good range.  If you decide to select an exercise-focused program, make sure you incorporate your own healthy eating to complement your efforts.  Likewise, if you decide to select a diet-focused or meal delivery program, be certain to exercise at least 30 minutes per day, even if that only encompasses a brisk walk around your neighborhood.  The most success for your overall health will be seen with a combination of efforts, and that makes the selection of both diet and exercise the best way to lose fat.
